The Mija Chronicles

Mexican food and culture, on both sides of the border

Pictures of the new place

May 20, 2010 by Lesley Tellez

I’ve got moving brain. Been up since 6 a.m. this morning, thinking about whether the TV is going to fit through the curved entry way, how to pack up the rest of the kitchen, and how to take the pantry items over without spilling everything, because I don’t have any small boxes left. Wait — I can use the laundry basket for pantry stuff. Score!

Wish I had a button to turn it all off. Maybe I’ll gift myself a spa treatment when this is all over.

Because it’s all I’m thinking about anyway, here are a few shots of the new place.

The entry way, where it appears the TV will be able to pass through after all:

Two views of the living room, where one day I will have the six- to eight-seat dining table of my dreams:

The kitchen, which is a typical size for Mexico City, but with an above-average amount of cabinet space. The big door to the left holds the stackable washer and dryer.

Master bedroom and accompanying bathroom (the area underneath the window is a storage space):

Extra bedroom/office (sorry I don’t have a better picture of it, it’s not as small as it looks in this photo):

And the guest bath and shower:

This is really good. I am moving myself and I know from experience that it is a drag finding a good apartment in Mexico. Good neighborhood, well maintained. I am glad you found this one!

    🙂

Hey, thanks y’all. I’m glad you like it. And Mike: I love the curved entryway too! Now I just gotta get through the next two days and actually move in…

What a great apartment! It looks huge. I LOVE the niche in the entry.

What floor is it on? Are you near the street stands you’ve written about in the past, or will you be discovering new ones?

Good luck with the move! Thanks for sharing all this with us.
